The Dubai Turf Club (DTC) has officially launched with an inaugural dinner at the Arts Club, Dubai. Modeled after the Cambridge University Horse Racing Society, the DTC was formed with the support of the Dubai Racing Club (DRC). Its primary goal is to foster the next generation of horse racing enthusiasts in the UAE and create a community for young, like-minded people at the Meydan Racecourse.
Inaugural Event and Key Figures
The inaugural event was attended by founding members and senior supporters, including Charles Yardley, CEO of the Khaleej Times. Harry Tregoning, a Dubai-based entrepreneur with deep family ties to racing, was the guest of honor. He shared his personal journey in the sport and praised Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his contributions to horse racing through the creation of Godolphin and the Dubai World Cup, which have solidified the UAE’s position as a global leader in the sport.
